Spring 2005 Workshop Schedule

Thinking About Law School – A workshop especially for juniors and others contemplating applying for Fall 2006 admission to law school. An overview of the application process, with a timeline to make sure you’re on track. I’ll also answer questions about taking time off, financing law school and deciding whether it’s the right choice for you. Although the workshop is geared toward those applying soon, all students are welcome.

This workshop will be offered twice to accommodate as many schedules as possible. If you are thinking about applying to law school right after graduation, please attend one of these workshops – it will save a lot of time later when you meet with me individually.

Tuesday, February 8th, at 2 pm Dickinson 214
Wednesday, February 9th at 10 am Machmer E35

Financing Your Legal Education – How are you going to pay for that degree? I will go over all of the major loan programs, discuss debt consolidation and loan repayment assistance plans, and answer other questions you have about paying for law school. This workshop is especially for seniors and others starting law school in Fall 2005 (but all are welcome).

Tuesday, March 22nd at 2 pm (room to be announced)

The LSAT: An Introduction – An overview of the test, how it’s used by law schools, and the advantages and disadvantages of different preparation strategies.

Tuesday, April 5th at 2 pm (room to be announced)

Law School 101 – A workshop and send-off for those entering law school in Fall 2005: The essential information you need to know before you get to school. Tentatively scheduled for Thursday 4/28 in the evening.

Lawyer-Alumni panels – These are still in the planning stages, but I hope to have speakers on careers in International Law, Patent and Intellectual Property, Sports Law and Public Interest. The panelists will speak about what their work is like, and the career paths they pursued to get where they are today. Please let me know if there are other areas you’d like to see panels on. I’ll let you know the details as things are firmed up.
