LSAC Fee waivers
The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) offers waivers of certain LSAT and LSDAS fees to eligible applicants. The waived fees include
- One LSAT administration ($118)
- LSDAS Registration with 4 law school reports and the Letter of Recommendation service ($157)
- The Official LSAT SuperPrep Book ($28)
In order to apply for a fee waiver, you must submit a paper application for the waiver AND for registration for the LSAT. In other words, you cannot register online. (LSAC promises an online application by the summer, but this is not available to those of you planning on taking the June LSAT.)
You must apply 4-6 weeks prior to the LSAT registration deadline. That means essentially, by the end of March for those of you planning on taking the June LSAT.
Application forms for the fee waivers and offline LSAT registration paperwork are available in the Pre-Law Advising Office. You can also download them at the LSAC website.
LSAC is reportedly pretty stingy about granting fee waivers, but that shouldn't discourage you from trying. Fee waivers for application fees are administered separately by individual law schools, and the law schools are, as a general rule, more generous.
